About Nebius:
Nebius is leading a new era in cloud infrastructure for the global AI economy. We are building a full-stack AI cloud platform that supports developers and enterprises from data and model training through to production deployment, without the cost and complexity of building large in-house AI/ML infrastructure.
Built by engineers, for engineers. From large-scale GPU orchestration to inference optimization, we own the hard problems across compute, storage, networking and applied AI.
Listed on Nasdaq (NBIS) and headquartered in Amsterdam, we have a global footprint with R&D hubs across Europe, the UK, North America and Israel. Our team of 1,500+ includes hundreds of engineers with deep expertise across hardware, software and AI R&D.
The role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll support the design, review, and development of critical electrical infrastructure, including low-, medium-, and high-voltage systems. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on data center design experience who can drive technical decisions, coordinate with partners, and ensure designs meet operational and regulatory requirements.
Travel: This position will require on-site presence at data centers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Review electrical design packages for data center projects, including internal concepts and third-party partner designs.
- Support development of electrical design concepts for high-density data center environments.
- Evaluate UPS, LV, MV, and HV electrical infrastructure.
- Review cable distribution, electrical pathways, and design coordination with data hall layouts.
- Partner with mechanical, construction, commissioning, and operations stakeholders to ensure designs are buildable, maintainable, and aligned with business needs.
- Assess designs for concurrently maintainable data center operations and high power-density environments.
- Help identify alternative design solutions, product options, and technical tradeoffs.
We expect you to have:
- 3+ years of experience with electrical systems in large-scale data centers or other critical infrastructure environments.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain one within 2 years.
- Experience designing, operating, commissioning, or maintaining electrical distribution systems.
- Strong knowledge of UPS systems, generators, switchgear, transformers, and power distribution equipment.
- Understanding of medium- and high-voltage electrical systems and protection schemes.
- Experience leading engineering teams and driving technical projects in complex environments.
- Ability to manage internal stakeholders, consultants, vendors, and outsourced project teams.
- Knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including NFPA 70 and UL requirements.
- Experience with power system analysis tools such as SKM, ETAP, or Cymcap.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, support commissioning activities, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
It will be an added bonus if you have:
- Experience with neocloud, GPU, or AI infrastructure data centers.
- Experience at hyperscalers, colocation providers, or mission-critical engineering environments.
- Familiarity with high-density rack environments.
- Experience supporting design reviews through commissioning or operational turnover.
Key employee benefits:
- Health insurance: 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and families.
- 401(k) plan: up to 4% company match with immediate vesting.
- Parental leave: 20 weeks paid for primary caregivers, 12 weeks for secondary caregivers.
- Remote work reimbursement: up to $85/month for mobile and internet.
- Disability & life insurance: company-paid short-term, long-term and life insurance coverage.
